Dr. Joy Forsmark

Ford Motor Company Research and Advanced Engineering

Joy Forsmark has been a technical expert in light metals at the Ford Motor Company Research and Advanced Engineering Laboratories in Dearborn, MI since 1999. Joy has worked on numerous Ford research programs on the mechanical properties, processing methods and performance simulation for cast and extruded Al and Mg components in both powertrain and automotive body applications. Joy has more recently been involved in investigating metals additive manufacturing processes and their application in automotive systems. Joy received her B.S. in Materials Science from Rice University and M.S. and PhD. Degrees in Materials Science from the University of California, San Diego.
