ASMI Cleveland Chapter Award & Honor Recipients

Each year, the Cleveland Chapter presents the folowing Chapter Awards:

Award of Distinction
The Cleveland Chapter Award of Distinction is intended to recognize profession-related contributions by a materials technologist.  A selection is made annually of a member who exhibits outstanding leadership qualities and ethics in support of the profession.  The recipient shall be from management, manufacturing, research, development, and materials or process control environments.  The recipient is recommended by the Awards Committee, confirmed by the Chapter Officers and endorsed by at least three ASMI Fellows or former winners of the Cleveland chapter Award of distinction.

Distinguished Service Award
The Cleveland Chapter Distinguished Service Award recognizes a member for his or her outstanding sustained dedication, service and support of all phases of Chapter activities and for having devoted considerable time, knowledge and commitment to ASM International.  The recipient must have at least 8 years of active participation in one or more of the Chapter’s committees, exclusive of years served as a chapter Officer or Executive Committee Advisor.  The recipient is nominated by the Awards Committee and confirmed by the Chapter Officers.

Outstanding Company Support Award
The Cleveland Chapter Outstanding Company support Award recognizes a company that has clearly demonstrated over the years sustained, unselfish contributions to the Chapter and ASM International.  The recipient is nominated by the Awards Committee and confirmed by the Chapter Officers.

President’s Award
The Cleveland chapter President’s Award is presented annually to the one person the Chapter Chairman feels contributed the most for the good of the Chapter in promoting the goals and objectives of ASM International.  The Chapter Chairman selects the recipient.

Technical Educator Award
The Cleveland Chapter Technical Educator Award recognizes a member of non-member of ASM International who has made a substantial contribution to technical education methods and/or is considered to uniquely inspire students to pursue technical fields.  The recipient has demonstrated outstanding performance, creative abilities, technical competence, and integrity in the practice of his or her technical discipline.  The recipient is or has been associated with an accredited educational institution in Northeast Ohio at any level ranging from kindergarten through post-graduate university education.  The recipient is nominated by the Awards Committee and confirmed by the Chapter Officers.

Young Member Award
The Cleveland Chapter Young Member Award recognizes a member less than 35 years of age for significant contributions to the Chapter.  The recipient is nominated by the Awards Committee and confirmed by the Chapter Officers.
